The story of Esther is our story. Her plan to ask the king for grace for her and her people is a reminder to each one of us – we can and must take our requests to our King! Thankfully, Jesus is also our Savior – our Rescuer. We don’t have to create elaborate banquets or scheme to get our King’s attention – He is always there, always ready, always waiting.
Isn’t He wonderful?
The story of Esther is our story. We were enslaved. We were betrayed. We were hopeless. But then . . . God. Our Redeemer and Friend entered the picture and set us free from bondage. And I hope that we respond the way Esther and the Jews responded . . . with revels (Avengers: Age of Ultron reference) – yes, revels! They created a two day festival to commemorate when “their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy (9:22, NLT).”
The story of Esther is our story. So let’s be glad today! Let’s have joy today! Let’s have revels – yes, revels! Our King has come to our rescue!
